Somebunny is Turning One- Sneak Peak

Pinned Image

I can't believe I'm typing this but in just a few weeks my wee one will be turning one year old. How did that happen so fast? It's been a whirlwind of a year and we celebrate every milestone with little M as they happen. She brings so much joy to our lives; I wish she'd stay small forever.
In anticipation of the her one year bash, I've been busily organizing the party details via pinterest.
I chose a Peter Rabbit theme because I loved Beatrix potter as a child and I enjoy reading them to Baby M now.

While I've been putting a lot of time into planning, I really want the event to be simple overall. We've a big family and nice group of friends so the party may already feel a little grand for a one year old. While I want the very best for her, I realize there needs to be balance- and learning to live simply is a valuable lesson, one I'm still learning myself.

Here is a sneak peak at what I'm planning, I hope you'll visit in April to see the party photos!

Menu:
Fresh Veggies & Dip
BLT Sandwiches
Terra Vegetable Chips
Fresh Berries
Carrot Cake Cupcakes

I found this sweet dress for Baby M on Zullily and paired it with a white crochet sweater from Old Navy, I can't wait to see it on her. I left it with my mother to work her magic with the iron. That woman works wonders with an iron - I'm telling you- it. is. amazing.

Instead of a traditional cake, I decided to go with carrot cake cupcakes for the adults.  I like it when guests can help themselves and I really don't want to leave the fun to cut and serve cake.
But what kind of  birthday would it be if the guest of honor didn't get to smash their cake all over their face?  I'm having my baker friend make a 4" mini cake just for her sweet little fingers to smash to her heart's content.

Here is our cake inspiration:
