Baby M's First Birthday

We had a wonderful first Birthday Party for Baby M, it really couldn't have gone any better. This first year has been such a special one and as a mom, I've had such mixed emotions about it all. One moment I'm holding my child close and wishing for time to slow down so I can enjoy my baby just a little longer and the next moment I'm cheering her on as she takes her first steps or attempts something new.
So this is what motherhood is all about.

Okay, enough of the mushy stuff, on to the PARTY!

The poster above was made by a friend of mine as a gift for her first birthday.

Sticking with the Peter Rabbit theme we served BLT sandwiches, berries, veggies and dip,
 and veggie potato chips.

Our mini-smash cake and carrot cake cupcakes.

The party favors were coloring books and bunny ears.

To keep the little ones occupied, we filled a swimming pool with ball pit balls and brought in a little tunnel from Ikea. The pool was a big hit! Baby M dove right in:

Happy Birthday Baby M, I can't wait to celebrate
many more with you my beautiful  little girl!

Vacation in Florida

We recently returned from a vacation to sunny Florida; Baby M's first plane trip!  We had a great time with our in-laws relaxing on the beach and taking in the scenery. Baby M did as well as can be expected for an 11 month old on a 3 hour flight, but we survived.

The photos above were taken at the historic Bonnet House. The interior courtyard was spectacular, if you love gardens, this is a must see in Ft. Lauderdale.

We visited Flamingo Gardens, a botanical garden where baby M admired the wild birds that were
wandering free around us.

And of course we spent a little time playing the sand.

As nice as it was to get a little R&R, I'm happy to be back. With just a week before baby M's first birthday, there is a lot of organizing to be done. We also booked a landscaper to start the work at the front of the house which *squeal* I can hardly wait for!
